Spade Tongue

Oh what a girl you are—
With your bitter lips—your jagged tongue—
Oh what a sight you are
All hunched over and cloaked
Words lay unspoken—feeling for worlds unwritten—
Fingers cease to drape—spin and spurn—
Watch the universe turn
Round and round—oh, down we go
We seek damnation in the form of flattery
—battery, more like it—
Such a waste—wasted—such a waste
Residue upon your face—defaced—

Heartfuck

If home is where the heart is, then where do I belong?
‘Cuz my heart has long since been gone
Through the battlefield—it died—
Well, not so much died as it was left
Stuck north of here—there—
My chest aches so lonely for the cavity that’s bare
Behind the ribcage and above the breast—emptiness—
Where leaves were born again, I took my leave and old me died
The Seeds of yesterday confide—today will never be equated

Tell Tale Trash

I saw my chance with you today
Stared ahead as it flew away
I had the opportunity,
but I blew it all away
Can't let you get too close
So afraid I'll fall and brake again
These memories don't ever fade
It's not your fault
I am to blame
Gave my heart away,
Found it in the trash one day
Maybe I could have gave it away again
but I'm so lame and it's too late
Should've given it a try
Sometimes being shy...
is just a damn lie
'Cuz I don't wanna feel that way again
Don't want to be thrown away
but isn't this just misery...
I can see you with her,
her with you and the two of you
When did this become so real?
I don't remember this from yesterday,
but today it's really here
and now you aren't
